Eeb Allay Ooo! now streaming on Netflix

2019’s Indian film ‘Eeb Allay Ooo!’ is now streaming on Netflix. It stars Shardul Bharadwaj, Naina Sareen, Nutan Sinha, and more.

The story is of a simple Bihari boy named Anjani who lands up in New Delhi. The migrant bags an unusual job of keeping money away from the official and public buildings. It asks society to introspect their behaviour and mindset towards migrants.

The film also marks the directorial debut of Prateek Vats. It is written by Shubham and produced by Prateek Vats, Shwetaabh Singh. The official description of the film reads:

“A theatre of the absurd, the evolution of man, and a live broadcast of grief. There’s o̶n̶e̶ three words for it: Eeb Allay Ooo! A man struggles to understand his purpose in an unforgivable world after being hired as a monkey repeller in Delhi.”

The film has been loved by viewers and praised by the critics. It was selected for the 70th Berlin International Film Festival and released theatrically in India on December 18, 2020.

Talking about Eeb Allay Ooo!, Vats said:

“Monkeys, being evolutionarily so close to us, became perfect vehicles for satire. They are unpredictable, mischievous, and potentially violent and aggressive. The canvas of Delhi as a migrant city, and also a power centre, provided us the base for looking at what they are, and within that, we hoped to transcend beyond their factual existence. But metaphors, not really.”
