Mohanlal is back with his role as Georgekutty in Drishyam 2, which is set to a global premiere on Amazon Prime. He launched the official teaser of the movie on January 1 as a New Year surprise for his admirers.

The movie is scheduled to release this year. The second part of the movie will be a sequel to the much-celebrated 2013 hit, a movie with unexpected twists and climax.

Mohanlal plays the lead role of Georgekutty in the movie, other roles are played by Meena (Rani), Georgekutty’s wife and their two children played by Ansiba Hassan (Anju) and Esther Anil (Anumol).

The movie revolves around a family of four, in which the elder daughter Anju accidentally kills a man who tortured her. Her father tries to draw a veil over the murder to save his family from the cops by creating a made-up story. Drishyam 2 will resume from where the last part of the movie ended.
