Disney+ working on ‘Turner & Hooch’ reboot with Josh Peck

Disney+ has ordered a web series starring Josh Peck based on the Tom Hanks’ Disney film Turner and Hooch. The web series has been given a 12-episode order.

Peck plays the role of U.S. Marshall Scott Turner (earlier played by Hanks) who inherits a big dog that he initially did not want. The former Drake & Josh star took to Instagram to reveal the news:

Similar to the 1989 movie, the reboot will revolve around Turner trying to figure out how to deal with life after inheriting an unruly dog, Hooch.

The show will be written and executively produced by Matt Nix, the man behind TV shows like Burn Notice and Marvel’s The Gifted. Josh Levy (who also played producer for the popular TV show Bones) will also play co-executive producer for this web series.

The upcoming show, which was put into works in December 2019, marks the merger between Disney and Fox as the studio used for the show will be that of 20th Century Fox TV.

As of now, no premiere date has been announced for the new Turner & Hooch.
