Disney Plus renews ‘Diary of a Future President’ for season 2

After the successful run of season one, ‘Diary of a Future President’ is all set to return to Disney Plus with its second season. The streaming giant announced the news through its official Instagram handle.

Diary of a Future President is an American comedy web series that follows the middle-school life of a twelve-year-old Cuban-American girl Elena Cañero-Reed, through her journey to become the President of United States.

In the first season, the titular character was played by Tess Romero (young Elena) and Gina Rodriguez (adult Elena). The story was mostly narrated through flashbacks and flashforwards.

“TAKE TWO! Haha…. Thanks for the love and support! The cast and crew worked so hard and we are all so proud!” said Gina Rodriguez in her Instagram post while breaking the news of the renewal to her fans.

Created by Ilana Peña and produced by Rodriguez’s I Can and I Will Productions, the 10-part-first season premiered on January 17, 2020.
