Dark Days at the Magna Carta: Blake Lively leads post-apocalyptic thriller for Netflix

Netflix has snagged ‘Dark Days at the Magna Carta’, a post-apocalyptic thriller starring Gossip Girl icon Blake Lively.

Shawn Levy (Stranger Things) with his partner Dan Cohen is primed to produce the feature project alongside Lively and Kate Vorhoff as executive producers.

Written by freshman Michael Paisley, Dark Days at the Magna Carta is “a character-driven thriller set against a catastrophic event and pivots on a woman going to extreme lengths to survive and save her family”.

The plot details and release date haven’t been revealed, however, it is being anticipated that Levy and Lively intend to make it a trilogy with Paisley writing the screenplay.

Lively has kept a rather mellow profile since her last project, The Rhythm Section, that didn’t fare well at the box office.

Levy and Lively’s familiarity through Deadpool star, Ryan Reynolds, may prove lucrative for the current family-thriller, Dark Days at the Magna Carta.
