Netflix showcases Cowboy Bebop opening credits at TUDUM

At the Netflix global fan event, ‘TUDUM’, John Cho revealed the opening sequence for the live-action ‘Cowboy Bebop’ web series. It is a recreation of a beloved anime series of the same name created by the animation studio, Sunrise.

The intro for the live-action series borrows many elements from the original anime including the iconic jazz theme, Tank!, written by Yoko Kanno and performed by Seatbelts. Yoko Kanno was the composer responsible for the original soundtrack and revealed that she will also be creating some new tracks for this particular adaption.

The intro includes the three a main leads, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir) and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) as well as glimpses of several supporting characters and possible enemies. The intro ends with a shot of Ein the ‘data dog’, a Welsh Corgi.

The series was originally announced for development in June 2017 with the filming finally wrapping on March 15, 2021. The cast of Cowboy Bebop also includes Elena Satine and Alex Hassell.

The series is set to be developed by André Nemec and written by Christopher Yost. It is scheduled to release on Netflix on November 19, 2021.
