Covid Is No Joke: A virtual comedy fest organised by Americares

On Friday (May 1, 2020), Americares brought together the biggest names in the comedy for a night of laughter and support.

The comedy festival, Covid Is No Joke, featured sketches, stand-up comedy and heartfelt messages from popular faces including Elizabeth Banks, Jack Black and Tenacious D, Wayne Brady, Kristin Chenoweth, Mackenzie Davis, Mark Duplass, Will Ferrell and Gal Gadot.

It also included all members of the Impractical Jokers, Kyle Gass, Linda Hamilton, Chelsea Handler, Mindy Kaling, Kerri Louise, Jonathan Mangum, Patton Oswalt, Natalia Reyes, Adam Scott, Finn Straley, Paige Weldon, and Jenny Yang amongst others. 

The event was live-streamed on YouTube and was hosted by board member and actor, Tony Goldwyn.

US Senator Elizabeth Warren also joined in to share a message of gratitude for the frontline workers.

Pop singer Sia dropped in for a live performance of her brand new song Saved My Life, leaving her fans pleasantly surprised.

Americares is a health-focused relief organization. The event was an attempt to raise funds to provide protective gear and other health facilities to the frontline workers fighting against COVID-19 in the United States, Haiti, Honduras, India, Lebanon, the Philippines and Tanzania.
