COVID-19 outbreak delays Made in Heaven shoot

Fans of Made in Heaven will, unfortunately, have to wait a bit longer for the second season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Season Two of the popular Indian web series made under Zoya Akhtar’s banner along with Reem Kagti was due in 2021. According to an announcement made by the creators, the shoot was supposed to begin in March. With exotic foreign locations, season two would have destination weddings set in Europe.

But due to the spread of the virus, creators had no choice but to postpone the shoot. A source released the following statement:

The unit, headed by Zoya, Reema and Nitya Mehra, were planning to shoot in different parts of Europe, including Spain and Italy. However, given the lockdown in certain countries in Europe and the latest suspension of visas in India, the schedule remains cancelled till May. Only after May will the team take a call on when they can resume work.

The increasing number of cases of COVID-19 has caused mass panic across the globe. Many countries, including India, have decided to put a halt on international flights as a preventive measure.

With this turn of events, the release of season two has been pushed to mid-2021.

Season one of Made in Heaven premiered on Amazon Prime Videos in 2019 and garnered praise from critics and audience alike. The web show starred Sobhita Dhulipala and Arjun Mathur in the lead and also featured Jim Sarbh, Kalki Koechlin, Shashank Arora and Shivani Raghuvanshi in pivotal roles.
