Amazon Prime Video recently revealed the trailer for its upcoming comedy original, ‘Coming 2 America’. The film is a sequel to 1988’s ‘Coming to America’ and will see Eddie Murphy return as Prince Akeem Joffer.
Continuing where the first film left off, Prince Akeem is now set to become king of the fictional African nation, Zamunda. As his father, King Jaffe, lies on his death bed, Prince Akeem finds out he has a son in America. Honouring his father’s last wish to train the boy as a crown prince, Akeem, along with his best friend Semmi (Arsenio Hall), head back to New York.
Like the previous film, Murphy and Hall with play multiple characters in the sequel, adding to its comical bravado.
Coming 2 America also features Jermaine Fowler, James Earles Jones, Wesley Snipes, Tracy Morgan, Leslie Jones, and Shari Headley, among others.
The films has been directed by Craig Brewer and will premiere on March 5, 2021.
