Chris Rock to become first artist to perform live on Netflix

Chris Rock is set to become the first artist to give a live performance on Netflix, the streaming network has confirmed. The release window for the comedy special is early 2023.

Robbie Praw, Netflix Vice President of Stand-up and Comedy Formats, said:

“Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation. We’re thrilled the entire world will be able to experience a live Chris Rock comedy event and be a part of Netflix history.

“This will be an unforgettable moment and we’re so honored that Chris is carrying this torch.”

This is his second stand-up special with Netflix, after ‘Chris Rock: Tamborine’ in 2018. The comedian has been in the news this year after being controversially slapped by Will Smith during the Oscars for a joke on his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
