Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming original “Chhalaang” will see Rajkummar Rao and Nushrat Bharucha in a rom-com around sports and love.
Shortly after the poster release of Amazon Prime Original, Chhalaang, the makers recently dropped the trailer this Saturday. Evidently clear from the title and the poster released, the film has sports in its backdrop.
Rajkummar Rao will be seen as PT Teacher Montu who falls in love with fellow teacher Neelu played by Nushrat Bharucha, shortly after they start working together. This potential romance is interrupted by another PT teacher Mr Singh, played by Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
This love triangle will pave way for Montu and Mr Singh locking horns through sports, in an attempt to woo Neelu. From the looks of it, Chhalaang seems to constitute elements of romance, comedy as well as drama.
The trailer also showcases a vast ensemble of supporting characters like Ila Arun, Saurabh Shukla and Satish Kaushik. Chhalaang will be directed by Hansal Mehta, who had earlier shared the film’s poster on Instagram.
Mehta has collaborated with Rao in the past with films like Omerta, Shahid, Citylights and Aligarh. Chhalaang will be their fifth project together, and for the first time it will be a comedy.
Chhalaang will be jointly produced by Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg.
It premiere on Amazon Prime Video, this Diwali on November 13.
