The beloved childhood hero Chacha Chaudhary is back. After the much-loved original comics and their TV adaptation, Chacha Chaudhary is geared up for an animated series that will have an OTT release.
Previously, Toonz Media Group, in association with Disney TV, had garnered fair ratings for Season 1. The high popularity of the show with today’s children is what prompted them to come back with Season 2. According to a press release, they have signed an exclusive deal with Disney+ Hotstar VIP for expanding Chacha Chaudhary and digitalising him through the OTT platform.
Keeping in mind the pre-millennial nostalgia of Chacha Chaudhary, this decision has been taken with a vision to make him and his morals relevant amongst the children of the present age too. According to reports, new innovations, like the gadget-freak ‘Pappu Pendrive’, has been added to the existing characters to align the show with the millennial mindset.
Reports also suggest that production for the second season has already started. 52 episodes of 11 minutes each will bring back the classic Chacha Chaudhary – humour, adventure, solving problems and triumph of good over evil.
The character was originally created by Pran Kumar Sharma in 1971 for a comic book series. With over 10 million copies sold and translated into ten languages, it had gained huge popularity amongst the comic-loving audience.
