‘Bridgerton’ renewed for seasons 3 and 4 by Netflix

Popular Netflix regency-era drama Bridgerton has already been renewed for third and fourth seasons, even before the release of season 2.

The announcement came from none other than the infamous Lady Whistledown herself:

Executive Producer and and founder of the show’s production company ‘Shondaland’, Shonda Rhimes, said in a statement:

“This two-season pickup is a strong vote of confidence in our work and I feel incredibly grateful to have partners as collaborative and creative as Netflix. Betsy and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue bringing the world of Bridgerton to a worldwide audience.”

Season 2 for the series was announced back in January, within a month of its original release on December 25.

The platform later announced that it had smashed the previous records for most household views within the first 28 days.

Regé-Jean Page, who played Duke of Hastings Simon Bassett in season 1, will not be returning for the second instalment.

This aligns with the books, which tell stories of a different Bridgerton in every part. The series looks to follow the same, with season 2 focussing on Anthony.

If the books are continued to be followed, season 3 will revolve around Benedict, while season 4 would be centred on Colin.
