Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming web series, ‘Bombay Begums’. The show will feature the life journey of five women based in Bombay.
It follows these five irrepressible women across generations, fighting to survive against preconceived notions around their gender and social positionality.
The trailer gives the audience a glimpse of these women coming from different backgrounds navigating their lives in a world which fails them beyond their bodies and sexualities.
According to the official description:
“5 women, 5 different worlds, 5 different perspectives. Meet the 5 Begums who find themselves racing and facing obstacles threatening to pull them down. Watch each unique personality fight against her roadblocks and emerge victorious!”
The web series will star Alankrita Shrivastava, starring Pooja Bhatt, Shahana Goswami, Amruta Subhash, Aadhya Anand, Plabita Borthakur, Rahul Bose, Danish Husain, Vivek Gomber, and Manish Chaudhari. It will premiere this Women’s Day on March 8.
