Black Widow to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from September 3

Marvel Studios has announced the release date of ‘Black Widow’. The movie will release in six different languages- English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Directed by Cate Shortland, the script was penned by Eric Pearson. ‘Black Widow’ stars Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt, Ray Winstone, and Rachel Weisz.

The movie is based on the only female superhero in the old guard of the Avengers. The film is set after the events of 2016’s ‘Captain America: Civil War’. Natasha Romanoff finds herself on the run due to helping Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes. The female avenger suddenly finds herself on a mission with old companions she could not forget.

Originally set for a 2020 release, the film was postponed due to the pandemic. ‘Black Widow’ also marks the conclusion to Romanoff’s character as she sacrificed herself in Avengers: Endgame. It received mostly positive reviews and has received 80 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.

‘Black Widow’ starts streaming on September 3, the same day as Marvel’s ‘Sang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings’ releases in selective theatres.

Scarlett Johansson recently pressed charges against Disney regarding the same day streaming release.
