Ajay Devgn’s ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’ to stream from August 13

Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’ will stream on Disney+ Hotstar from August 13, the platform has confirmed.

The film narrates the story of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. He reconstructed the Indian Airforce Base with just his team and 300 local women.

Apart from Devgn, the film stars Sanjay Dutt, Pranitha Subhash, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharad Kelkar, Nora Fatehi and Ammy Virk, among others.

Producer Bhushan Kumar said in a statement:

“This courageous tale needs to be told because we want the current and the coming generation to know about this brave soldier, Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who played a significant role in India’s victory in the 1971 war. He was heroic enough to take this bold step of involving civilians in a war. Also, who better than Ajay Devgn for the role of Vijay Karnik?”

The film was originally planned for a theatrical release, but faced continuous delays due to the lockdowns.

Its digital release was announced last year, along with 6 other films which have already come out on the streamer.
