The film will also be a Bollywood entry for Shalini Pandey who played the female lead in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Arjun Reddy. Pandey is further set for a big release with Yash Raj Films’ upcoming Jayeshbhai Jordaar alongside Ranveer Singh.

The recently released trailer is all about a budding romance between the lead paid which is opposed by the girl’s family. It showcases the fight to be together despite all odds. The description for Bamfaad says:

A passionate love story set in Allahabad between Naate and Neelam who meet accidentally and fall in love. They make brave choices and go through a path of love and loss to be with each other.

Synopsis

Rawal, who plays the lead character, Nasir Jamal said:

I am glad that I got the chance to be a part of such a thrilling film. Though the driving force of the film is the love story, it has many more layers to it. I want to make my own mark as an actor in the industry, and it feels great to begin my journey by playing Nasir Jamal, a character that fascinated me ever since I read the script. I hope that people watch the film in huge numbers on ZEE5, and I am eager to hear their feedback.

Pandey mentioned that her character Neelam is “bold and strong” but she also related to her vulnerability. She added:

As an artist, I look forward to projects that challenge me and this project really pushed me and I learnt a lot while playing this part. ‘Bamfaad’ has a phenomenal story line and it is getting the perfect exposure with a massive video streaming platform like ZEE5.

Bamfaad is being presented by Anurag Kashyap and has been directed by first-time director Ranjan Chandel. Kashyap had previously talked about the film and explained that Rawal and Pandey were perfect choices for their respective characters. It also stars Vijay Varma and Jatin Sarna in major roles.

Talking about the film’s title, he had mentioned that it is a love story based in Allahabad and “bamfaad” is a north Indian slang for an explosion which is reminiscent of the lead pair. It is set in a “romantic volatile backdrop which will bring out an unusual yet raw and edgy love story on the screen”.
