Netflix’s ‘Back In Action’ to star Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz

Netflix has announced a new project titled, ‘Back In Action’. It will star Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz in the lead.

Foxx announced the news via a Tweet as well which features a conversation between the two actors talking about Diaz making a comeback to acting. He then gets NFL star Tom Brady on the call to talk to Diaz and give her tips of how to un-retire (a reference to Brady’s short-lived 40 day retirement in early 2022).

‘Back In Action’ will be directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) who will also write it alongside Brendan O’Brien (Neighbors). It will be produced by Beau Bauman for Good One Productions and Gordon for Exhibit A.

Diaz last appeared in three films — ‘The Other Woman’, ‘Sex Tape’ and ‘Annie’ — in 2014 and has been on a hiatus from acting since then. She did have an uncredited cameo still in 2019’s ‘Charlie’s Angels’. Meanwhile, Foxx was last seen reprising his role as Electro in Marvel’s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.

No further details about ‘Back In Action’ have been revealed yet except that the production will begin later this year.
