Disney+ Hotstar original film, ‘The Big Bull’ has become the top OTT release of the week with 5.8 million streams from April 2 to 8, 2021. The crime drama has also been announced as the biggest opener of the year for the platform.
In the midst of receiving backlash from many critics and comparisons made with Pratik Gandhi’s ‘Scam 1992’, Ormax Media has declared Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘The Big Bull’ as the ‘Top OTT original of the week’.
Inspired by true events, the movie follows the life of controversial stockbroker Harshad Mehta who was involved in the stock market scams of 1992. The film also stars Nikita Dutta, Ileana D’Cruz, Soham Shah, Ram Kapoor, and Saurabh Shukla.
Announcing the news, junior Bachchan shared his happiness and excitement on his social media accounts. He appreciated everyone for watching the movie and giving it all the love.
Amitabh Bachchan also shared a heartfelt blog post and tweet expressing pride over his son’s success. He stated in his blog that “mostly it goes into a million or so for other counters, but this one has gone to the roof of the Stock Exchange… keeping the ref. of the film story in mind !!”
Produced by Ajay Devgn and Anand Pandit and directed by Kookie Gulati, ‘The Big Bull’ started streaming on April 8, 2021, on Disney+ Hotstar.
