Indian web series & films shine at Asian Academy Creative Awards 2021

The Asian Academy Creative Awards (AAAs) unveiled its national winners as several Indian artists and TV shows received accolades.

Manoj Bajpayee was honored with the Best Actor award for the hit web series The Family Man on Amazon Prime Video along with Konkana Sen Sharma who took home the award for best actress for her moving performance in Netflix’s anthology series Ajeeb Daastaans. She appeared in Neeraj Ghaywan’s segment Geeli Pucchi. Geeli Pucchi also received the award for best anthology episode.

Naseeruddin Shah won the award for best-supporting actor for his role in the Amazon Prime Video musical series–Bandish Bandits. Amruta Subhash received the best female supporting actor award for the Netflix drama Bombay Begums. Hansal Mehta’s SonyLIV series Scam 1992 won two awards—best drama series and best direction (fiction) for Hansal Mehta.

Amazon Prime Video’s Mirzapur season two was awarded the best original program by a streamer. The Netflix movie Serious Men took home two awards–best editing for Atanu Mukherjee and cinematography for Alexander Sukala. Umesh Bist won the award for best original screenplay award for the Netflix movie Pagglait. Pagglait also won the best sound award.
