Disney Plus release date for Artemis Fowl revealed

With most theatrical releases getting delayed, Artemis Fowl, a science fantasy adventure, is set to exclusively land on Disney+ on June 12, 2020. The film veils events of the first and second novel of the 2001 Artemis Fowl best-selling series written by Eoin Colfer.

The film, directed by Kenneth Branagh, stars Ferdia Shaw, Lara McDonnell, Josh Gad, Tamara Smart, Nonso Anozie, Colin Farrell, and Judi Dench.

Artemis Fowl II (played by Shaw), is a 12-year-old criminal mastermind fighting Opal Koboi (the antihero) who kidnaps Arty’s father, Artemis Fowl I. Arty joins forces with Holly Short (McDonnell) and Mulch Diggums (Gad) to defeat the evil genius.

The trailer starts with Arty’s father commending him for his improved skills and intellect. Followed by Arty’s familiarization to his father’s rather “complicated profession”.

The loyal Butler (Anozie) acquaints the prodigy to walk in his father’s steps of protecting dangerous secrets to save mankind.

After facing numerous pushbacks and delays, the film is finally set to enthral the audience in the world of fantasy and crimes revolving around a 12-year-old criminal allied with pixies and dwarfs on Disney+.
