Arcane on Netflix: Release date, cast and trailer

Netflix has released the official trailer for its new animated series, Arcane. It is set within the world of League of Legends and tells the backstories of two of the video game’s most popular champions—sisters Jinx and Vi.

Release Date

Act one of Arcane releases on Netflix on November 6, with act two set to follow on November 13, and act three on November 20. Each act includes three episodes.

Cast and Creators

The series stars Hailee Steinfeld (Pitch Perfect) and Ella Purnell (Army of the Dead) in the lead. Other cast members include:

Synopsis

The official Netflix description reads:

“Set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun, the story follows the origins of two iconic League champions-and the power that will tear them apart.”

Other details

The show was independently financed by Riot Games (creators of games such as League of Legends and Valorant).

Trailer

The trailer shows Vi and Jinx fighting as the balance between the rich city of Piltover and the seedy underbelly of Zaun is threatened by the creation of hextech, a way for any person to control magical energy.
