Ted Lasso: Jason Sudeikis turns soccer coach in Apple TV+ comedy

Apple TV’s new sports drama, Ted Lasso, is a story of a college football coach hired to train a professional soccer team in the UK.

The trailer shows an optimistic and enthusiastic Jason Sudeikis ready to take on the new field and the challenges that come with it. The show oozes British vibes and appears to have taken a casual comedy approach to deliver its story.

Ted Lasso sets a notion that chaos is going to be one of the leading elements to drive the narrative. With a coach running a sport, he has no idea about it, chaos is just the tip of the iceberg.

The first three episodes of Ted Lasso are set to premiere on Apple TV+ on Friday, August 14. The remaining seven episodes of the 10-episode season will stream on a weekly basis.

The series also stars Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Phil Dunster, and Nick Mohammed.

Apple’s official description of the character and series reads:

“Jason Sudeikis plays Ted Lasso, a small-time college football coach from Kansas hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer.”
