Apple TV+’s ‘Mr. Corman’ follows man dealing with quarter-life crisis

Apple TV+ has dropped the trailer for its original series titled ‘Mr. Corman’. The comedy-drama show premieres on the platform on 6 August.

Named on its protagonist, Mr. Corman revolves around Josh Corman as he navigates his life full of unfulfilled dreams and relationships. The trailer opens with Corman teaching 5th grade, while he envisioned becoming a musician. His ex-fiancé moving out further adds to his misery.

Corman struggles with his anxiety and his inability to find meaning in his life. His friends and family try to act as a support system for him during a time of crisis. His anxiety seems to take the form of an imaginary comet approaching the earth. The trailer offers some glimpses of other imaginary visions.

Apple TV describes the series as “Darkly funny, oddly beautiful and deeply heartfelt, this relatable dramedy speaks for our contemporary generation of 30-somethings – rich with good intentions, poor with student loans and yearning to become real grown-ups sometime before they die.”

Mr. Corman is created and directed by Joseph Gordon Levitt, who also stars in the lead role. The show also features Arturo Castro, Debra Winger, Bobby Hall a.k.a. Logic, Alexander Jo, Juno Temple, Jamie Chung, Shannon Woodward, and Hector Hernandez.

A24, the entertainment company behind modern masterpieces like ‘Hereditary’, ‘Midsommar’, ‘Lady Bird’ and ‘Moonlight’ is producing the show for Apple TV. The show is executive produced by Levitt along with Bruce Eric Kaplan, Ravi Nandan, and Inman Young.

Mr. Corman will debut on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes, followed by a weekly episode every Friday.
