Apple TV+’s ‘Invasion’ follows 5 impacted by alien assault

Apple TV+ unveiled the trailer of its upcoming sci-fi drama series ‘Invasion’. The 10-episode series will premiere globally on October 22 with the first three episodes, followed by a weekly episode every Friday.

Invasion follows the story of an alien invasion on earth from different perspectives, set across multiple continents. The series will throw light on the impact of this incident on the 5 different individuals.

Through a split-screen, the trailer introduces the 5 human beings whose lives will be chronicled as the story progresses. A voiceover runs in the background, speaking about an individual’s purpose in life.

The trailer further shows aerial shots of the major cities across the globe, and the upheaval caused by the situation. With mysterious events taking place like nosebleeds, and the city going under blackout, everyone needs to stand strong and hold on to their humanity.

Invasion is written and executive produced by Simon Kinberg (The Martian) and David Weil (Hunters). Jakob Verbruggen (The Alienist) serves as the director for the series. It stars Shamier Anderson, Golshifteh Farahani, Sam Neill, Firas Nassar, and Shioli Kutsuna in pivotal roles.

The show was ordered by Apple in 2019, and the shooting got wrapped up in March 2021. Alongside Invasion, Apple TV+ has got many shows on their slate, which are scheduled to release this year.
