Apple TV+ recently hosted the premiere of its limited series ‘The Essex Serpent’ in London, led by Claire Danes and Tom Hiddleston.
Clémence Poésy, Frank Dillane, Hayley Squires, Jamael Westman, Gerard Kearns and Michael Jibson will be seen in key roles.
The official synopsis reads: “‘The Essex Serpent’ follows London widow Cora Seaborne (Danes) who moves to Essex to investigate reports of a mythical serpent. She forms an unlikely bond with the village vicar (Hiddleston), but when tragedy strikes, locals accuse her of attracting the creature.”
The series is based on the acclaimed novel of the same name written by Sarah Perry. It is directed by Clio Barnard and written by Anna Symon. The two are also executive producers along with Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman and Patrick Walters.
See-Saw Films has produced the show for the streaming platform. It will debut worldwide on May 13, 2022.
