Apple TV+ has announced the incoming of new shows and seasons. The new streaming giant took to Twitter to reveal characters, descriptions and more. The upcoming shows include the following names and details:
- Defending Jacob: The Chris Evans starrer crime-thriller revolves around a district attorney (Evans) whose life takes a turn after his son (Jaeden Martell) is found caught in one of his murder trials. The limited series is based on a best-selling novel and will premiere on April 24, 2020.
2. Trying: Created by BBC Studios, Trying counts as Apple TV’s first venture from the UK. The comedy series stars Rafe Spall as Jason, Esther Smith as Nikki and Imelda Staunton.
The eight-episode show revolves around “growing up, settling down, and finding someone to love”. It will premiere on May 1, 2020.
3. Home: The nine-episode documentary series comes from the makers of Chef’s Table and The Defiant Ones. The series is all set to premiere on April 17, 2020.
4. Amazing Stories: Along the lines of shows like Netflix’s Black Mirror, Amazing Stories is executive produced by Steven Spielberg.
The five-episode anthology series will premiere on March 6, 2020, and will star Whitney Coleman, Trisha Mashburn, Austin Stowell, Dylan O’Brien, Victoria Pedretti, Josh Holloway, Sasha Alexander, Kerry Lynn Bishe, Edward Burns, Juliana Canfield and the late Robert Forster.
5. Central Park: The animated musical series also doubles out as a comedy and will feature voices of Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn, Tituss Burgess, Daveed Diggs, Gad, Leslie Odom, Jr. and Stanley Tucci.
The show will be released sometime in summer 2020.
6. Visible: Out on Television: The five-part docuseries will explore the life and times of various celebrities who not just belong to the LGBTQ+ community, but actually chose to come out on television and make their sexual identities public.
The show, which will be released on Valentine’s Day (February 14, 2020), highlights various movements that took place for LGBTQ+ rights as well as themes like homophobia and struggles in the television industry. It includes interviews with Ellen, Oprah Winfrey, Billy Porter and more.
7. Home Before Dark: This “dramatic mystery” has already been renewed for a second season ahead of its premiere date (April 3, 2020).
It narrates the story of 9-year-old investigative journalist Hilde Lysiak. The young girl moves from Brooklyn to a lakeside town to uncover mysteries that many around her tried to bury.
Along with the above announcements, Apple TV+ has also announced a season renewal for The Morning Show, Mythic Quest, Little America, Dickinson, Servant and more.
Additionally, it has also welcomed Seinfeld’s Julia Louis-Dreyfus to the Apple TV+ family.
