The Apple TV+ series ‘Ted Lasso’ is all set to debut its 12-episode second season from July 23. The first season earned several awards for executive producer and star Jason Sudeikis at the 2021 Golden Globes and recently at the Peabody Awards 2021.
Developed by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Joe Kelly, and Brendan Hunt, the series is based on a character played by Sudeikis in a promotional series for NBC Sports.
The season trailer shows the upbeat coach, Ted Lasso, under pressure while he strives to inspire the team and the AFC coaching staff as they sail through the aftermath of a major loss.
In one of the particular snippets from the trailer, Lasso, in his optimistic ways, is seen telling his saddened team “I believe in communism. Rom-communism, that is. If Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan can go through some heartfelt struggles and still end up happy, then so can we.”
Sarah Niles has reportedly joined the cast for season 2, and we can expect Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Phil Dunster, and Nick Mohammed, in addition to Sudeikis, to reprise their roles from the earlier season.
In association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, the new season of ‘Ted Lasso’ premieres on July 23 on Apple TV+. The episodes will release weekly.
