Applause Entertainment allies with Bend It Films & TV for new international series ‘Seeker’

According to a recent announcement, production house Applause entertainment, filmmaker Gurinder Chadha’s Bend It Films & TV and Sunder Aaron’s Locomotive Global have decided to join hands in developing a brand new international series titled, Seeker.

The show will narrate the life of an Indian Guru who sets out on a path of truth but starts losing hold of his empire as he reaches the pinnacle of success. The show is being planned for multiple seasons and will be shot in multiple locations in India as well as abroad.

Chadha, who is responsible for films like Bend it Like Beckham, Bride and Prejudice and Blinded By The Night, expressed her excitement for the project:

“As an international director and producer, I have been inspired to witness the strong appetite that both Indian and global audiences have for original, ambitious, border-crossing drama series.”

Sunder Aaron, co-founder and principal, Locomotive Global Inc added:

“Together, we are already working to bring together a brilliant team of writers & creators who will help us develop high quality scripts and present this fascinating story to a global audience”

Applause Entertainment CEO, Sameer Nair, said in a statement:

“This is an incredible time to tell this particular story, about the faith of the human race in a higher power, and in the telling, to cater to a universal, global sensibility”

Applause Entertainment has developed a strong foothold in the Indian content market with producing Indian versions of web series like Criminal Justice, Hostages, The Office and Your Honor. It is also responsible for shows like Hasmukh, Rasbhari, City of Dreams, Bhaukaal and the upcoming Avrodh and Scam 1992.

The company is further creating Indian adaptations of Fauda and Luther.
