Netflix has announced an upcoming biopic film, ‘Chakda ‘Xpress’. The film is based on the life of the former captain of Indian National Women’s cricket team, Jhulan Goswami who will be played by Anushka Sharma.
Directed by Prosit Roy, ‘Chakda ‘Xpress’ has been written by Abhishek Banerjee and produced by Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh Ssharma’s Clean Slate Filmz.
The official announcement video shows the Indian Women National team preparing for a match against the Australian team in 2008. Unlike the men’s team, they have almost no fans to cheer on them.
However, Goswami overcomes the misogynistic politics and focuses on her ambition of playing cricket for the Women in Blue.
The release date for the film is still under wraps.
