Anime Fest: Netflix releases upcoming anime teasers and trailers

Anime lovers can rejoice for the coming months as Netflix has released multiple teasers and trailers. The four upcoming anime are a bit different than the conventional ones. We know it’s boring to go through them one by one so we saved you the trouble.

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.: Reawakened

The first on the list appears to be a comeback of the original anime which was called “The Disastrous Life of Saiki K”. The anime which aired worldwide back in 2016 focused on a high school student called ‘Kusuo Saiki’, who possessed psychic abilities. As a result, Saiki tried to keep his powers a secret but failed with problems piling up all the time.

Now almost three years later, the beloved psychic is making a comeback with “The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.: Reawakened.” The six episodic show will see Kusuo continue his storyline while also dealing with two new characters. The show will be premiere on December 30th exclusively on Netflix.

Levius

In a world ravaged by war, cybernetic fighting rules all with players who either go big or go home. Enter Levius, a cybernetically augmented fighter who is hell-bent on redeeming his name and winning the biggest fight of all.

The two-minute trailer describes the world of Levius and what holds it. Born from the marriage between machine and hyper steam, Metal boxing is the primary sport of the city with some people merely do it to survive. The anime will feature the protagonist Levius with a dark past and his journey in becoming the biggest champion.

Levius will be available on Netflix come November 28th.

Ghost In The Shell: SAC_2045

If you’re a veteran anime fan, you will have seen the original Ghost in the shell movie based on the manga by Shirow Masamune. Fast forward a few years and a Scarlett Johannson adaption later, Netflix is coming with a venture.

Called “SAC_2045”, the new anime is based on the same manga and has been directed by the likes of Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) and Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed).

The 22-second teaser shows the female protagonist coming back to an area in Japan after the mass economy has gone belly up. The short yet sweet teaser looks exciting but viewers are warned; the video has more dislikes than likes. Most likely so because of the new 3DCG animation style compared to the classic hand-drawn one. SAC_2045 will be available on Netflix come 2020. Check out the trailer:

Eden

Last but not least, Eden is an anime series directed by Yasuhiro Irie who is most famously known for his direction in the classic anime Fullmetal Alchemist. Furthermore, the concept designer is none other than Toshihiro Kawamoto, who previously worked in Cowboy Bepop.

Eden itself is centred in a world where humanity has gone extinct. This new world dubbed “Eden three” is ruled by robots who, by the looks of the trailer, are friendly and follow their routine. Until two of them stumble upon a young girl (Sara) who is no older than a toddler.

Sara is then taken to another city as most robots believe that humans are evil. We then see a time jump which shows now an almost adult Sara questioning her purpose in this world. This is until a voice in her dream begs her to help them in the place she started; Eden Three. Eden will be globally available to stream on Netflix in 2020.
