Everyone’s first favourite smart phone game is getting a new animated series on Netflix. Titled Angry Birds: Summer Madness, the series was announced by the streaming giant along with CAKE Entertainment and the studio responsible for the game franchise, Rovio Entertainment.
The new show will be a long-form animated series and consist of 40 episodes of 11 minutes each. It is said to premier worldwide in 2021
According to a press release by Netflix:

The first mobile game back in 2009 set the base for what has now become a global brand and inspired toys, television shows, print publications, food products and even amusement park attractions.
Rovio along with Sony Pictures made an Angry Birds animated feature film in 2016 with a sequel released in 2019. Both films were met with praise and were successful at the box office. According to Wikipedia, Angry Birds 2 is the best reviewed animated film based on a video-game on Rotten Tomatoes, as of 2020.
The new animated series is reported to be taking inspiration from the humour and tone established by the film franchise and showcasing a fresh look at the same time.
