Netflix to release new docuseries ‘Amend: The Fight for America’

Amend: The Fight for America is an upcoming six-part docuseries on Netflix on the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. It will be released on February 17.

The show will be exploring the paradigm of ‘Citizenship’ according to the fourteenth amendment of the U.S constitution. The docuseries will be hosted and executive produced by Hollywood legend Will Smith.

The docuseries will also be executive produced by Terence Carter, Jana Babatunde-Bey, Jamal Watson, Tom Yellin, Robe Imbriano, Jonna Mclaughlin, Angus Wall, Larry Wilmore.

Each one-hour-episode will trace the true meaning of being an American through the vast history of the country. 

It will also explore the initial ambiguity of the term ‘citizen’ which allowed the flourishment of racism and how an ideal definition of an American citizen came into being.

The series will unravel the subjectivity of the terms equality and protection and its implication in contemporary American society.
