Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Udaan’ showcases dreams of a rebel

Amazon Prime Video has announced the release of the action-drama ‘Udaan’. The movie is a Hindi version of the Tamil film ‘Soorarai Pottru’ and will premiere on April 4, 2021.

Written and directed by Sudha Kongara, ‘Udaan’ has been previously released on Amazon Prime Video in regional languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The movie is inspired by the book ‘Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey’.

The plot of the film outlines a man’s idea to start a low-cost airline that could be available for common people. He finds ways to overcome all the obstacles to fulfil his dream while everyone goes against him.

The main star cast includes Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal, Mohan Babu and Karunas. The movie is co-produced by 2D Entertainment and Sikhya Entertainment, Suriya and Guneet Monga’s production companies.

‘Soorarai Pottru’ (Tamil) was one of the 10 Indian films to screen at the 78th Golden Globe Awards under the Best Foreign Film category.
