Almost Sanskari: Neeti Palta’s stand-up special on Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video has released Neeti Palta’s stand-up comedy special titled ‘Almost Sanskari’, where she showcases her usual brand of humour.

The platform released a short trailer for the special on November 6:

The official description of Almost Sanskari reads: “Come and laugh at the complicated inner workings of a comedian’s mind as she shares a very personal journey from childhood to never growing up.

“From her not-strictly-traditional upbringing by her mom and army dad to buying condoms for her older brother, arranged marriages to society’s expectations from her that she gleefully fails to meet.”

Prime Video has notably increased investment in local stand-up comedians of India. The platform recently launched the special of Palta’s Comicstaan co-judge Biswa Kalyan Rath: ‘Sushi’.

It also announced ‘One Mic Stand’, a show where five veteran comedians will mentor Taapsee Pannu, Vishal Dadlani, Richa Chadha, Bhuvan Bam and Dr. Shashi Tharoor in stand-up comedy.

Prime Video’s rival Netflix has also partnered with popular Indian comedians including Vir Das, Kenny Sebastian, Kanan Gill and Kaneez Surka to expand comedy content on the streaming platform.
