Twitter has called the upcoming Pakistani film ‘50 Crore‘ a copy of Money Heist and the hints are unmissable.
Pakistani actor Aijaz Aslam dropped the first look of his upcoming film “50 crore” on Twitter, over the weekend. People couldn’t help but notice the stark similarity it had with Netflix web series, La Casa De Papel or Money Heist.
From the looks of its characters to the plot, the resemblance to Spanish thriler web series is too evident to miss. The teaser and the posters for the movie immediately caused a buzz on the social media platform.
For those who don’t know, Money Heist is a Spanish web series that recently gained momentum in India as well. Back in April, when the fourth season was out, people kept talking about the show for weeks.
The Pakistani film has so far revealed details like characters, who will be named after cities of Pakistan. Apart from that, a ‘Professor’ will help the group execute a big heist.
The speculations came alive owing to the grave resemblance of plot. People instantly came pointing it out on their Twitter handles.
Some fans however, also showed support for 50 Crore.
In response to the trolling, Aijaz Aslam came forward to address the accusation of blatantly copying the popular Netflix series.
In a video message, the actor said:
“I am coming with a new project with other celebrities. It’s a different project and lots of fans are impatient and they are not getting it. They are being judgmental and calling it a copy of Money Heist. It’s a request for everyone to please wait for 8-10 days and you will see then.”
Update: 50 Crore turned out to be an ad for online shopping portal Daraz.
