iDiva and Smule app have launched 1 2 3 Riyaaz – a digital music reality show with Jassie Gill, Lisa Mishra and Kusha Kapila as mentors or ‘tribe leaders’.
The show revolves around 12 songs, 12 challenges and 12 weeks.
Aspiring participants have to download the Smule app, pick their ‘tribe’ and record their song. Contestants will then receive a new song every week based on the theme. The mentors will then react to their homemade music videos online.
The winners of the digital reality series will get a chance to star and sing in a music video with the three mentors.
Mishra who quickly became popular for her singing videos online before her first Bollywood playback song Tareefan, stated:
“I think you know me as somebody who was ‘discovered on the internet’, Digital is a great frontier for finding great talent.”
The phrase “123 Riyaaz” was made popular by the show’s mentor and iDiva’s star Kapila with her character ‘Billi Massi’. She took to Instagram to announce the upcoming competition:
