All 16 Marvel shows announced for Disney Plus

One strand of the Marvel Cinematic Universe storyline terminated with ‘Avengers: Endgame’. However, the franchise, along with its parent company, Disney, has taken the OTT route to flesh out more content for Disney+.

Bringing forth a whole new spectrum of web-series that connoisseurs the various unexplored areas of the universe, here is a look at 16 exciting Marvel shows that are streaming and releasing soon on the streamer.

Hero Project

After the action-packed events leading up to Avengers: Endgame, Vision (Bettany) and Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch (Olsen) decided to get some much-needed rest and a breath of fresh suburban air. The duo has shifted to a peaceful suburban house and are living a happy life, while posing as ordinary folks – keeping their superpowers a secret. The web-series hits two birds with one stone as it binds together the whims of a Marvel fan with the laughter of sit-coms.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

The web-series is in continuity with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As per the storyline, Captain America’s mighty shield is with Falcon (Mackie). He joins forces with Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier (Stan), in their fight against numerous global threats as Falcon’s right to be the new Captain America is questioned.

Loki

Loki (Hiddleston) begins his story where the Avengers finished theirs in Avengers: Endgame, when he sneaked the Tesseract away. The web-series follows Loki through a voyage of time travel, across the headquarters of Time Variance Authority prison, in thrilling and action-packed sequences.

What If…?

The anthology web-series delivers what it says in the title — all of the much contemplated what-ifs in the MCU. What would the fate of the heroes turn out to be, if a few events happened differently? The episodes proceed as The Watcher (Wright) who dwells on a realm above the multiverse, observes the happenings in the myriad of variations in the timeline. The series presents multiple guest appearances of various actors and celebrities from other fields.

Ms. Marvel

Cast: Matt Lintz, Rish Shah and Iman Vellani

Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel is a Pakistani American youngster living in New Jersey, who discovers that she possesses superpowers. The web-series trails her adventures, as the storyline continues from the Marvel film franchise and intertwines with that of the upcoming Captain Marvel 2.

Hawkeye

Cast: Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Brian d’Arcy James, Alaqua Cox, Tony Dalton, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Zahn McClarnon and Florence Pugh

Like Loki, Hawkeye also continues from the finishing line of Avengers: Endgame, but the storyline is brand new. The web-series introduces Kate Bishop (Steinfeld), the daughter of Hawkeye (Renner). She strives to reach Hawkeye’s level.

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

The special will provide a major follow-up on the Guardians’ storyline with the fabs: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. It will be written and directed by James Gunn, and will be shot during the production of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Moon Knight

Cast: Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy

Marc Spector aka Moon Knight (Isaac) has been a long-time superhero in the Marvel comics. He is an ex-criminal with Dissociate Identity Disorder, who joins hands with the CIA when he is first captured. Moon Knight will finally be getting a much-deserved adaptation for the screen, in this web-series.

Skrull Talos (Mendelsohn) and Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) come together for the web-series adaptation of Marvel’s alternative storyline comic, Secret Invasion.

Jennifer Susan Walters alias She-Hulk (Maslany) is a lawyer, who suffers a fatal injury. Due to an unavoidable blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner aka Hulk, she transforms into a female version of the big green rage monster. She however, has control over her senses and immeasurable strength.

MCU will host an ensemble of cool new superheroes and maladroit villains in a collection of new shorts. It will feature the universe’ beloved humanoid tree, Groot, in the lead and see him interacting with these new characters.
