With the new year approaching, several OTT platforms have shows lined up for viewers. In this offing, there are many exciting web series to look forward to.

Streaming giants like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and ZEE5 among others, have disclosed several upcoming web series, from an array of genres.

Here is a list of 10 picks that will kick start a binge-worthy new year for viewers.

Jeet ki Zid

Available on: ZEE5

Cast: Amit Sadh, Amrita Puri and Sushant Singh.

‘Jeet Ki Zid’ is the story of a relentless soldier who never gives up on anything and ends up making the seemingly impossible, the easiest thing to do. The web series was earlier called ‘Zidd’.

Amit Sadh is inarguably one of the most popular faces on the platform. He has appeared in other ZEE5 originals like ‘Operation Parindey’ and ‘Barot House’.

‘Jeet Ki Zidd’ will be available to stream from January 22.

Cobra Kai season 3

Cast: Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Martin Kove, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan and Courtney Henggeler

The third season of Netflix’s popular Karate based series, will greet viewers in the new year. It will continue the rivalry between Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso, that started 34 years after events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. The series is a sequel to the ‘Karate Kid’ films.

‘Cobra Kai’ season 3 will release on January 1.

Fate: The Winx Saga

Cast: Abigail Cowen, Jacob Dudman, Hannah van der Westhuysen, Eliot Salt, Freddie Thorp and Precious Mustapha.

‘Fate: The Winx Saga’, is a fantasy filled story of five fairies who attend Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld. Their task is to hone and master their magical powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence.

This is a coming-of-age story that promises many teenage subplots coupled with fantasy and power. The series will be available to stream from January 22.

January’s most anticipated web series in India, will surely be ‘Tandav’. The Amazon Prime Original is an upcoming political thriller that will star Saif Ali Khan in the lead. So far, only the teaser has been released that doesn’t divulge much about the plot of the series.

It is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and will be available to stream from January 15.

Dream Home Makeover season 2

Available on: Netflix

‘Dream Home Makeover’ will greet viewers with another season this January. The docuseries will show interior designers, Shea and Syd McGee, keep the dream alive for families in search of stylish spaces, whether it’s a comfy cabin or a manor sporting NBA-worthy hoops.

The show will stream from January 1.

Headspace Guide to Meditation

Available on: Netflix

Netflix has collaborated with mobile application ‘Headspace’ for ‘Headspace Guide to Meditation’. Just like how the app functions, the show will also focus on the importance of meditation in human lives. It will show how simple steps can lead to a practice of meditation and breathing exercises.

The animated 8-episode series will release on January 1.

History of Swear Words

Available on: Netflix

Just like the title of this upcoming web series, the concept is also quirky and fun. The show is a docuseries hosted by actor Nicolas Cage. It traces back to the origin of swear words. It will be a first to see swear words used for education purposes.

This six-part comedy series explores the origins, pop culture-usage, science and cultural impact of curse words. The show will stream for January 5.

Bang Baang – The Sound of Crimes

Bang Baang – The Sound of Crimes had unveiled its trailer long ago. But the web series is finally ready to come out on ALTBalaji and ZEE5. The action-thriller is set around two young people who are brave and ferocious. The teaser promises many action sequences.

The show will stream from January 20.

The French web series will revolve around Assane Diop, who lost his father as a kid because he was accused of a crime he didn’t commit. As revenge, he plots to rob certain artefacts with the help of his fellow janitors.

The show will retell the famous French story about Arsène Lupin, the world-famous gentleman thief and master of disguise. ‘Lupin’ will be available to stream from January 8.

The Netflix Afterparty

As is evident from the title, The Netflix Afterparty is a reality web series where the cast from different Netflix Originals like ‘Emily in Paris’, ‘The Crown’, ‘Holidate’, etc give interviews.

David Spade, Fortune Feimster and London Hughes will host different episodes of the show. New episodes will be released every week. The show will be available to stream from January 2.
