Leonora Folger twist throws a curveball in Only Murders in the Building season 3

A major revelation about Leonora Folger is made in the latest episode of Only Murders in the Building season 3, one that adds yet another dimension to Bunny’s murder investigation.

Charles, Mabel and Oliver make a discovery that leads Charles to contact Leonora once again but his search leads to him solving a completely different mystery.

The secret compartment

Oliver brings Mrs Gambolinni’s cage to Charles’ apartment as a gift because the bird doesn’t let him sleep a wink at night. Charles is no fan of the bird either and doesn’t want it in his house.

As the two of them jostled with the cage, a door comes loose at the bottom and behind it, they find the original Rose Cooper painting of Charles’ father with Rose.

They finally find the original Rose Cooper painting

Charles tries to contact the Assisted Living Facility that Leonora lives at but he’s in for a surprise once he gets through.

The major identity reveal

After speaking to the facility, Charles learns that the woman who they met at Bunny’s funeral isn’t actually Leonora but someone else.

Acting on a hunch, he opens up his father’s watch which is also in the painting and he finds an address engraved inside. He looks it up and calls the number listed to confirm his suspicions and it turns out to be the same woman he was looking for.

He invites her home and addresses her by her real name, Rose Cooper. She said that she had just enough information to pass off as the real Leonora but Charles managed to figure out her secret.

He spouts off his theory about how his father forced her into hiding because he was a bad man but Rose claims it is quite the opposite.

She tells him that his father actually saved her from an abusive husband and that she had to disappear for both their safety. Then she asks Charles to open up the original painting of his father. Underneath he finds another painting of his father and him as a child, standing in front of the Arconia.

Charles learns the truth about his father

She tells him that even though his father didn’t succeed, he always wanted to be there for his son and cared very deeply for him.

Yet another suspect

Rose tells Charles that he deserves to have the painting more than the woman who came around asking for it a few months prior. She describes the woman as pushy, with brown hair and glasses.

Mabel works her own leads on the case

At the same time, Mabel had been digging into Detective Kreps and her investigation leads her to question Poppy because she believes Cinda Canning is connected to Bunny’s murder.

Rose’s statement coupled with everything that Mabel found out made Cinda the new number one suspect in the case of Bunny Folger’s murder.
