Jack Ryan and Director Wright first meet Zeyara Lemos during the 8th annual Nigeria Foundation gala. She hosts the event and openly talks about how her foundation is trying to aid a suffering Nigeria, but special interests muddle her message.
Zeyara is also supporting WHO and is looking forward to partnering. She leaves quite an impression on Cathy. Zeyara continues to keep in touch with Cathy and eventually schedules a lunch with her.
During the meeting with Cathy, Zeyara talks about helping Myanmar, which is filled with pleasure casinos that are laundering money for drugs and human trafficking.
Zeyara tells Cathy about her mother, who came from the same area, and asks Cathy to join hands with her. Cathy, on her side, feels honored to do so.
Zeyara’s secret
In the fourth episode of Jack Ryan season 4, Zeyara reveals herself as the person the Silver Lotus Triad is consulting. She is the architect of the attack that the triad is planning.
Chao Fah visits her in Geneva. She called him after learning that his brother-in-law, Soe Wai, has been killed for betraying them. The truth is Chao Fah killed him because he learned Chao Fah’s secret.
Zeyara was told by Tin Tun that both Soe Wai and Chao Fah are inadequate, but Zeyara sees herself in Chao Fah. When Zeyara first partnered with the triad, Tin Tun believed that they were selling themselves short.
Zeyara likes to think there is nothing more hopeless than a visionless man who sees himself as a visionary. That’s why she chose Chao Fah to design her network, and now she believes Chao Fah is ready for much more and offers him the entire operation of Myanmar.
When they are about to leave Geneva, Chavez sends his picture with Olafsky’s body to Chao Fah, who shows it to Zeyara. She states that Chavez now knows that he was working for them, and they should assume that they are coming for them.
Zeyara’s death
Zeyara’s attempts to stop Jack see her using Cathy as bait. However, Jack listens to Chao Fah and focuses on the mission at hand. Jack’s team gets to the triggers that the triad is using. Jack threatens to destroy these triggers if Zeyara won’t let Cathy go.
Mike rescues Cathy, but Zeyara is able to capture Jack Ryan. Later, Chavez elaborately breaks into the prison where Jack is being kept. Chavez rescues Jack and kills Zeyara. Thus, avenging his fallen brothers, who were used by her for her scheme.
