In Heart of Stone, Theresa Yang and Max Bailey are Rachel Stone’s MI6 teammates. They meet an unfortunate end when they fail to suspect their teammates. Jing Lusi plays Yang, and Paul Ready plays Bailey.
When Rachel Stone, a spy who works for the Charter, infiltrates MI6, she is made to work with a team, which consists of Parker, Theresa Yang, and Max Bailey. With time, Stone grows close to her teammates and starts caring about them, even though she is not supposed to do that.
Colleagues turned friends
While Yang is a skilled agent and works in the field with Parker, Bailey is a driver and comms operative, so he stays in the van with Stone. It becomes clear that the two of them deeply care for their teammates, as they worry about Stone when she steps out of the van as well as rush to save Parker from Mulvaney’s men.
They are both friendly and fun-loving; they try to get Stone to loosen up and enjoy when they go to Lisbon. They also pay attention to Stone’s needs, and that is why they become important to her.
Stone is especially close friends with Bailey, who comes to her defense whenever the team teases her. As Bailey is a conspiracy theorist, he believes in the existence of the Charter and keeps convincing his team about the same.
However, the team never believes him and laughs off his theories. What Bailey does not know is that one of his teammates is a Charter spy, and the other aims to destroy the Charter.
Yang and Bailey’s deaths
Parker wants to destroy the Charter, and for that, he needs the Heart. Only a Charter member can lead him to the Heart. Parker also finds out that the Charter has infiltrated MI6, and he tries to flush out the Charter spy.
He suspects Yang of being the Charter spy because Bailey keeps trying to find the Charter and Stone pretends to be a demure woman who cannot fight. To find the Charter spy, Parker and Keya set a trap for the team.
As per Keya and Parker’s plan, the team goes to Lisbon, where they get attacked. While Bailey tries to save an unconscious Parker, Yang, who is under the impression that Stone is not a field agent, risks her life and clears the way to get Stone out.
However, Stone’s teammates are her friends now, and she refuses to leave them to die. She ignores the Heart’s instructions and goes back to save them. Due to this, she ends up blowing her cover.
When Stone takes out an entire team of men, Yang and Bailey are surprised, to say the least. However, they do not get a chance to hear Stone’s explanations because the minute Stone confirms Bailey’s suspicions, Parker shoots them both.
The team never meant anything to Parker; they were expendable to him. On the other hand, Stone considered Bailey and Yang her friends. She goes to Bailey’s house and mourns their deaths. She then decides to go after Parker and Keya.
After killing Parker, Stone is seen gifting Bailey’s niece the dollhouse that he wanted to give her. She also admits to Keya that she misses her team and forms a new one with Keya and Jack.
