Bang Eun-Ju, the major antagonist in Netflix’s rom-com Kdrama, Welcome to Samdal-ri, recently turns up dirty tricks to deal another blow upon Cho Sam-Dal, before coming to her hometown after conspiring more villainous plans.
Bang Eun-Ju, the envious assistant of once an accomplished fashion photographer Cho Eun-Hye, is now an envious and struggling photographer who fails to measure up to her former boss’s standards, much less surpass them.
After bringing down Eun-Hye using the dirtiest moves, she tries to resort to the same cheap tricks again, as the public perception towards Eun-Hye changes to a warmer shade.
Struggling with incompetence
Bang Eun-Ju has been having the worst time professionally ever since she snatched Cho Sam-Dal, aka Cho Eun-Hye’s career by levying fake allegations on her.
She lost the coveted Magazine X Project, but her boyfriend Cheon Chung-Gi got her another project, which she managed to butcher badly as well.
Meanwhile, because of her incompetence, several ADs have ditched her after having bad working experiences and people around her have started to ask to work with Eun-Hye again.
This infuriates and frustrates Eun-Ju further, and she knows the perfect way to release a bit of tension and gloat more with her devious and dirty tricks.
Reopening old wounds
Bang Eun-Ju had secretly shot a video of her mother beating Sam-Dal after the latter was on her way out of the hospital to visit Eun-Ju.
She posts the video online and the public response to the controversy is set aflame again. The video reaches Samdal-ri and everyone watches it, including Sam-Dal’s mom, who is heartbroken and aghast.
Everyone in Sam-Dal’s town is furious too, and they are on her side on this matter. Her mother asks her to give her either Eun-Ju or her mother’s name so she can confront them.
Bang Eun-Ju hasn’t had enough, though, as when she suffers from a creative deficit trying to come up with a theme for her project, she remembers Eun-Hye talking about using a retro theme in a countryside setting.
She remembers Eun-Hye liking that idea but not choosing her hometown for it, believing she hates it as she always said she’d never return to it. With that information, Eun-Ju reaches Samdal-ri with Cheon Chung-Gi.
No welcomes in Samdal-ri
There, she is instantly recognized by Gyeong-Tae and his mother, and they instantly call Eun-U and his mother, as well as Sang-Do, who all gang up on Chung-Gi and Eun-Ju, who are forced to escape the scene.
The couple is then overheard by Go Mi-Ja who is working with Sam-Dal and Jin-Dal at the orchard. She spots them and is overcome with anger.
She also hears Eun-Ju say that she just stomped on Sam-Dal (by publishing that video online).
Go Mi-Ja interrupts her and proudly boasts of her daughter, pouring a bucket of vinegar over Eun-Ju and Chung-Gi.
Sam-Dal confronts Eun-Ju, challenging her to follow through with her daring visit to her hometown, which she calls her turf.
