After being captured by trolls, Kit and Willow are imprisoned in a crow’s cage next to several other prisoners and one of them is Allagash, a former ally of Madmartigan. The character is played by Christian Slater.
Kit learns from Boorman that they had set out to find the Khymerian Cuirass and Madmartigan was ultimately betrayed by one of his own men. Scorpia reveals that Boorman escaped from the mines of Skellin, which gives Kit her father’s last known location.
A crazy troubadour
After being put into their cage, Kit looks for a way to escape and tells Willow that their combined talents will ensure they do. That’s when a prisoner with an eyepatch in the next cage speaks up, telling them that he had that attitude when he was first imprisoned as well.
Yet, he’s been stuck there for 10 years and the hope within him eventually died out. When they ask him who he is, he replies that his name is Madmartigan. Willow and Kit refuse to believe that he’s Madmartigan and Willow seems to know that this person is Allagash.
Allagash drops the facade and tells them that he was part of the crew that was eventually betrayed by Boorman. After they escape the cages, he tells Kit that he knows where Madmartigan is and he can take them there.
Along the way, he tells Kit how he drifted apart from Madmartigan before they found each other again when he was asked to join the search for the cuirass.
After finding the secret door leading to Wiggleheim’s tomb, Allagash fought off the trolls and told them he was Madmartigan so that Kit’s father could carry on and find what they were looking for.
He also reveals that his true passion in life is songwriting as he spouts out silly lyrics regularly.
A hero’s sacrifice
When they finally face each other, Boorman tells everyone that Allagash was the one who betrayed Madmartigan but Allagash pleads his innocence.
He initially grabs the cuirass and lux from Boorman and runs away but returns to help everyone fight the trolls. He shows them the way out after taking off the cuirass and giving it back to Boorman.
Before fighting the oncoming trolls, he tells Kit that her father could have killed him but he didn’t because he believed that Allagash would eventually meet his son or daughter or wife.
He wanted Allagash to pass on his message that he went through the doorway to fight off whatever was on the other side but he wanted his family to stay behind and fight for what’s important in this world, Elora Danan.
He then goes out in one final act of glory as he gets overrun by trolls, holding them back for as long as he can.
