A Shop for Killers follows Jeong Jian contending with assassins after she discovers murthehelp, the online shop for killers that her late uncle used to operate.
When Jian goes to Hansarang Gyungae Hospital in Yecheong for her uncle Jinman’s body’s handover process, she spots a peculiar tattoo on his leg.
It says “murthehelp” and Jian wonders if it was always there.
After the handover process is complete and the funeral is over, she comes across a burner phone he used to use.
The messages received on the phone suggest her uncle has a bank balance of over 18.7 billion won, and so she asks Jeongmin to inspect Jinman’s website which he helped revamp.
Jeongmin is a computer engineer so he hacks into the website but before even that, he learns that his agricultural website for selling hoses has just been a front.
Enter murthehelp
As Jian looks at the screen, they are directed to the dark web, an illegal website that Jinman actually operated, with the agricultural website acting as a passageway.
This illegal website is named ‘murthehelp,’ the same word that Jian saw tattoed on her dead uncle’s leg. Jeongmin hacks into the website to make more shocking revelations.
He asks Jian to look at it as he shows her the layout and the structure of this illegal website.
They find that it was created to sell all kinds of weapons, along with other sketchy, illegal products and services.
How it operates
Jeongmin then hacks into the operator’s account of murthehelp to find out that the website is operated for authorized members only.
Members can get codes according to their grades. You need to pass a process, which Jeongmin calls a bit tricky, to get the codes.

Only authorized members with the codes can buy the items on murthehelp, but codes can’t buy you all the items the website offers.
Each code has a different quality and you can only purchase the items qualified for a particular code. In total, there are four codes.
The codes
People who kill are Code Red. Jeongmin explains them as the contract killers in the movies. They can buy guns, weapons, bombs, poison — items needed to kill people.
Spies are Code Purple. It’s a code for people who buy and sell information.
What falls under this category is a variety of listening devices and cameras. There are also simple weapons or goods that one can use to kill themselves when their cover is blown.
Code Yellow is for the clean-up crew. It proffers drugs, detergents, and cleaning tools needed for body disposal and clean-up. They also provide various administrative services to evade the law.
Code Green
Code Green is the last one, but unlike others, it’s not a category. “Those who have received codes from murthehelp may never attack Code Green,” Jeongmin reads off the website.
It also says that if a party disobeys this and attacks Code Green, “everyone with a code must risk their lives to protect them.”
Jian wonders who these people are and Jeongmin draws her attention to the names given on the website. They are Jeong Jinman and Jeong Jian.
