What happens to Muniel in Sand Land: The Series?

The big bad in the last arc of Sand Land: The Series, Muniel faces off against Beelzebub in a grand battle as his genocidal tirade is stopped and he’s faced with the consequences of his actions.

Muniel is a junior angel who has been doing menial work that he grows tired of. He decides to stir things up in the mortal realm and descends upon Sand Land, where he seeks to rid of the demons.

He challenges King Lucifer who casually flicks the angel off to Forest Land, after plucking his wings out.

The mastermind behind an upheaval

Muniel is found by this neighboring country’s Supreme Commander Bred, who has been critical of King Jam for being non-confrontational regarding Sand Land and its alarming military might.

Muniel sees an opportunity and seeks to rule over Forest Land to ultimately execute his plan. He manipulates Bred further and shows him how King Jam’s wife Lilith is a demon.

He and Bred execute a coup d’état and overthrow King Jam, who is exiled by them. Muniel faces off against Lilith during the coup d’état and is nowhere near a match against her.

A false hero

However, the magical urn that he had brought with him turns out to be very powerful, so much so that it automatically sucks Lilith in and holds her captive inside for years.

Muniel then manipulates the public sentiment against the royal family and demons. He declares himself a hero and the citizens revere him as one.

He then seeks the powerful Aquanium sources to gain enough power and rule over all. Bred and successfully aggregates the required amount of Aquanium and then revives the behemoth flying warship called Garam with them.

Unleashing the genocidal Garam

Bred hesitates to use its beam of utter destruction on Sand Land, because that’s not what he wanted. However, Muniel has no problem with that. In fact, he can’t control his giddiness for using it.

He and Bred reach Sand Land, where the angel manages to capture King Lucifer in one of the urns too. He then seeks to destroy Sand Land even as Bred opposes that.

However, his enemy, Beelzebub, as well as Princess Ann, her rebels, Sand Land’s Sheriff Rao, Supreme Commander Are, Thief, and others, all work together to stop Garam’s attack.

The defeat

Garam starts to fall down as Muniel absorbs most of the energy from Aquanium fuel cells to become a behemoth version of himself. He does so to fight and defeat Beelzebub.

He manages to defeat the demon too, who can’t help but be overwhelmed by the juiced-up angel.

However, when Beelzebub gets to absorb the energy from the moon, he easily defeats Muniel, who’s thrown into the sky as he throws up the urns he had previously swallowed.

The epilogue

The urns fall on the ground and crack. These cracks help Lilith and King Lucifer escape from their captivities and help the heroes just in time. Muniel falls down as well and remains dormant and unconscious for a while.

Beelzebub scoffs at him while greeting him. Muniel’s attitude is not subsided still but a messenger from heaven shows up and informs him that the Archangel has summoned him.

The mischievous angel is taken back to where he came from and is published to do the same menial chores he was doing, for the next thousand years.
