Wang Kyung-Tae, one of the Five Eagle Brothers, is a supporting character in the rom-com series, Welcome to Samdal-ri. The character is essayed on screen by Lee Jae-won.
Cho Sam-Dal was a crazy girl growing up in the small coastal village of Samdal-ri on Jeju Island. She was accompanied in her crazy little escapades and adventures by her boy buddies.
Together, they were referred to as the Eagle Brothers. This group included Sam-Dal’s eventual boyfriend and her lifelong soulmate Cho Yong-Pil, along with Boo Sang-Do, Cha Eun-woo, and Wang Kyung-Tae.
A golden heart
Wang Kyung-Tae is the best friend of Cho Sam-Dal and Cho Yong-Pil and has been a member of their group of friends since childhood. He is a loyal and supportive friend.
He may be poor with words but his heart is in the right place. After a misunderstanding makes Cho Sam-Dal really mad at him, she overhears him defending her loudly in front of a pesky journalist who was harassing her earlier.
He is shown to spend most of the time with Eun-Woo among his friends, but his heart has the same amount of space for each of his best friends.
He also feels really proud of their achievements, like Sam-Dal’s career which she built by hard work that he recognizes and praises.
The basics
Wang Kyung-Tae is a security guard at Jeju Island’s Meteorological Administration. He got his job there with the help of his best friend Yong-Pil, who’s a weather forecaster there.
He’s shown to be a bit of a slacker at the job, but it’s also due to the relatively low amount of action going on. When duty calls for it, and the top brass orders, he does his job well.
Kyung-Tae had also gone to Seoul after graduation like all his best friends, in hopes of making it big there. However, like everyone else, he eventually returned to Samdal-ri as well.
