In the second season of Surviving Summer, Bodhi starts liking Tuscany Bray, a surfer who has a history with Wren. Emmanuelle Mattana plays Tuscany.
Tuscany Bray, the captain of Team Queensland, reaches out to Bodhi, and the two women start talking regularly. They get to know each other better and decide to meet in person. Tuscany calls this meeting a date.
Both women enjoy each other’s company a lot. With Tuscany, Bodhi is comfortable enough to tell her about how her sponsor puts out her pictures that make her look more like a model than a surfer.
Tuscany understands what Bodhi wants and encourages her to talk to her sponsors. She makes Bodhi feel confident about voicing her demands by explaining to her that if her sponsors laugh at her needs, then they should not be her sponsors. After their first date, Bodhi starts liking Tuscany even more.
Tuscany and Wren’s bitter past
Although they live in different states, Bodhi still wants to be with Tuscany. However, when they meet at the talent comp, Elo and Wren warn Bodhi that Tuscany is not what she seems to be. They tell her that Tuscany and Wren used to be good friends when Wren and Elo were on Team Queensland.
Elo and Wren then found out that Tuscany said mean things about Wren behind her back. When Wren confronted her, Tuscany cut all contact with her. They also tell Bodhi that Tuscany is a tricky competitor.
Bodhi gets a reason to believe them when she competes with Tuscany during the talent comp. Tuscany shows Bodhi no mercy, even though she knows that Bodhi’s sponsors are watching. Furthermore, when Bodhi tries to get her to go on another date with her, Tuscany tells her that she has a girlfriend back home.
This upsets Bodhi because she likes Tuscany a lot. When their teams meet at Nationals again, Summer confronts Tuscany about leading Bodhi on and then hurting her. The confrontation happens right before Tuscany’s heat, and she is unable to perform.
Tuscany’s side of the story
Summer later apologizes to Tuscany for saying all that to her before her heat, and Tuscany admits that she likes Bodhi a lot. She tells Summer that she does not have a girlfriend and that she lied to Bodhi because Bodhi is friends with Wren.
It turns out that Tuscany never bullied Wren. They were good friends, but when Tuscany started beating Wren at comps, Wren got threatened and started bullying Tuscany. She made Tuscany’s life very difficult and then painted herself as the victim.
Wren outed Tuscany to her sponsors and even tampered with her surfboard to sabotage her heats. Instead of helping Tuscany, Elo allowed her sister to bully her, as her coaching methods include pitting surfers against each other.
When Tuscany’s parents complained, Queensland dropped Wren and Elo. Now, Tuscany refuses to date anyone who is Wren’s friend. Summer then reveals the truth about Elo and Wren to her team, and Bodhi finds out why Tuscany lied to her.
Tuscany is one of the best surfers, and she leads her team to victory. On the other hand, Wren is left with no friends or team. With Wren out of the picture, Tuscany and Bodhi finally get together.
