Trunk: Obliterated character explained

Trunk is one of the main characters in Netflix’s action comedy series, Obliterated. The character is played by Terrence Terrell.

The elite team of US forces’ best of the best in Obliterated are given a near-impossible mission where the stakes are so high that the fate of a city as big as Las Vegas depends on it.

The elite team in focus here is one filled with all the clichés and tropes that the 90’s action movies so unapologetically embraced.

There’s the brains of the operation, the tech nerd, the getaway driver/pilot, the sniper, and the charming male lead.

Then there’s the hulking force of nature that’s always there to come in clutch when the heroes have to contend with swathes of enemies at once. In Obliterated, that hulking assist is Trunk.

An appetite that can’t get quenched

Trunk has a giant frame and is only a bigger and more powerful machine than Chad is. To do all the pummeling, he needs the fuel, which is his food.

Right off the bat, he needs food to chomp down in Obliterated. However, time and again, he only comes close enough to miss the chance to eat it.

With all the food eluding him and so many hands to be thrown, he eventually runs out of fuel. However, he throws a last rumble for a spin when the team requires him to.

He gets beat up at first, but when a convenient spill of chocolate delicacy aims for his mouth, he consumes all of it and stands up again, and this time he cleans the whole place up of bad guys.

The closet quotient

Trunk is queer, and that has been a fact known to all but Chad, who is another man with muscles and brawns to contend with most matters.

He idolizes Chad and the two are closest buddies in the team. However, he remains uncomfortable when it comes to getting out of the closet and discussing his sexuality with Chad.

This is because Chad is always talking about vaginas and other toxic masculine, heterosexual subjects like that. This makes Trunk hesitant to open up about his truth to Chad.

He also hides one more secret from him, which is that he plans on quitting soon and becoming Lady Gaga’s bodyguard.

However, after what he’s been through with all his mates during the mission, it’s not likely that he will quit anytime soon.
