Triloki: Choona character explained

Triloki is one of the major supporting characters in Netflix’s heist comedy series, Choona, playing an instrumental role in the show’s narrative. The character is played by Namit Das.

Shukla is a corrupt politician who uses his obsession with alternate, pseudo-sciences to further his greedy empire. In the process, he sends many of his obstacles to the afterlife, while making many of whom he spares, his enemies.

Out of all the nine enemies that he is totally unsuspecting of, there are some who he has not personally exploited, humiliated, cheated, or traumatized. And yet, such is the ugliness of all that he stands for, that these avengers don’t really need personal grudges to wish for Shukla’s end.

One of these nine people who wasn’t personally wronged by Shukla is Triloki.

Anarchist origins

Triloki was a rebel in his college days. He’s shown to be leading a group of students and giving rousing speeches against the establishment.

He also gets punished for his protests and spends days in jail due to a lack of funds to get bail. It is during this time he has a glowing bulb pop into his brain.

He begins gaming the system to go against the system. For a web of bureaucracy, corruption, unfairness, and cheating, he decides to trudge through the crap with his own skills at cheating the system.

He becomes a thief and goes against the rich from all that’s shown in his flashback montage. All of this leads to him joining hands with several other men and women to take down Shukla, a most accurate and filthy representation of the system.

A master of disguises

Triloki is a master of disguises and his appearances are almost always deceptive. From wigs to makeup, Triloki sports it all and gets into the skin of a different person.

He’s shown to don many avatars and play a multitude of real-life characters to perfection, so well that it fools his targets enough for him to do his job and scam/rob them.

His greatest masterpiece to date arrives when he gets the opportunity to take part in taking down Shukla. He becomes a super loud and ridiculous-looking mystical astrologer and does his part well enough that Shukla, a calculative and sharp devil of a politician is fooled.
